It is now well established that musical instrument tuition has a beneficial effect on the ability to learn mathematics and languages, as well as being an absorbing skill for life or even a rewarding career, not to mention the enormous social and personal benefits to be gained. In addition, since January 2001, musical instrument "Grade" exams have been given equivalent points to GCSE's and A-Levels when accumulating points for UCAS University application as well as preparing CV's for employment. Drum Kit Grade Exams are administered nationally by Trinity Guildhall.

Jonathan Chappell is a drum teacher who teaches drum-kit from beginner to beyond. He imparts a sound technique and in his drum lessons aims to equip the learner with the musical tools needed to play all styles of music, not just for now but for life.

As well as teaching drums and percussion at Moira House School Eastbourne, Newlands School Seaford and St Aubyn's School Rottingdean, and having a substantial number of private pupils attending drum lessons, Jonathan has presented a series of percussion workshops taken to schools throughout Sussex.
